この度、光栄にも MUSTARD HOTEL にて作品展 [BALANCE &CURVE] を開催させて頂きます。
今回は BALANCE(= 生け花 ) と CURVE(= 女性 ) という2つの要素を用い、現代の主体的な生き方にスポットライトを当てる作品を描きました。
<BALANCE>
日本美術の大きな特徴は左右非対称でアンバランスな構図だと言われています。
長く横に伸びた茎の先端には大きく花が開き、水を蓄えた花瓶はずっしりと地面をとらえる。一見たおれ
てしまいそうなその非対称さは、個性を持った美であり、誰とも似ない自分だけのバランスです。
昨年の秋にとある華道展に足を運んだとき、だれひとりとして均整な人間のいないこの世界で自分のバラ
ンスで立つことの大切さを、生け花の中に見出だしました。

<CURVE>
アートにおいて女性とは昔から常に描かれてきた被写体です。しかし多くの場合、その姿は「理想美」で
あり、社会から求められる女性像を反映しています。社会においても、街中には広告が溢れかえり『痩せ』
『脱毛』『美白』という単語を目に入れずに東京の街を歩くことは不可能だと思います。
私の作品ではあえて、社会から求められる姿よりも、自分の体のライン “CURVE” を愛す現代の主体的な
女性を描いています。
I’m happy to announce my exhibition [BALANCE & CURVE] at Mustard Hotel in Shibuya.
The concept of this exhibition is to turn the spotlight on the way of life with an independent mind using
two main motif, BALANCE(=Ikebana) and CURVE(=woman).
<BALANCE>
It is said that a major feature of Japanese traditional art is its asymmetric and unbalanced composition.
A large flower opens at the end of a long, horizontal stem, and the vase containing water captures the
ground firmly. The asymmetry, looked as if it’s easy to fall over the table at any moment, was the
beauty of uniqueness and its own balance like nothing else.
When I went to an Ikebana Exhibition last fall I found through it the importance to stand up with our
own unbalance.
<CURVE>
In art, women are subjects that have always been drawn since ancient times. However, in many cases,
their appearance is “ideal beauty” and reflects the image of women required by society.
In society, it is impossible to walk around city without seeing the words “slim”, “epilation”, and
“whitening”especially in Tokyo.
My work dares to depict modern, active women who love the line of their body “CURVE”, rather than
what society demands.
